Fractional COO - 20 hours (Ongoing Support)
$5,000.00

Fractional COO - 20 hours

A 10-hour fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) engagement provides targeted, high-impact operations leadership for companies that need strategic direction and execution without the cost or commitment of a full-time C-suite hire. Over a concentrated 10-hour block, the fractional COO assesses critical operational gaps, aligns priorities with business objectives, and delivers an actionable plan with initial implementation steps—enabling faster decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and measurable cost savings.

Scope (what’s included in 20 hours)

  • Pre-engagement intake (30–60 minutes): rapid collection of core documents, KPIs, org chart, and top operational challenges.

  • Focused diagnostic (3–4 hours): a condensed review of operations, processes, metrics, and immediate bottlenecks; interviews with 1–2 key stakeholders if available.

  • Strategic prioritization (2 hours): identify 2–4 high-impact initiatives, define objectives, risks, and resource needs; develop a prioritized roadmap.

  • Tactical implementation plan (2 hours): produce clear action steps, owners, timelines, success metrics, and quick wins that can be executed in 30–90 days.

  • Advisory and handoff (1–2 hours): walk-through meeting with leadership and relevant managers, Q&A, and guidance on next steps, including options for follow-on support or implementation retainer.

Deliverables

  • 1-page Executive Summary of findings and recommendations

  • Prioritized 90-day Operations Roadmap with owners and milestones

  • Immediate action checklist (quick wins) for cost savings and efficiency

  • Suggested KPIs and dashboard metrics to track progress

  • Suggested governance and accountability structure (meeting cadence, RACI overview)

Expected Outcomes (what this engagement delivers)

  • Clarified operational priorities aligned to company strategy

  • Immediate, achievable cost-reduction opportunities identified and ranked

  • A practical 90-day plan that reduces time-to-impact versus internal trial-and-error

  • Improved accountability: named owners and clear milestones for execution

  • Foundation for scaling operations or for more extensive fractional or interim leadership if needed

Ideal Companies for a 10-hour fractional COO

  • Early-stage startups needing C-suite operational guidance without full-time overhead

  • Growth-stage companies experiencing scaling challenges, process breakdowns, or margin pressure

  • Small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) and professional service firms looking to professionalize operations before raising capital or expanding

  • Companies undergoing a specific transition (post-merger integration, rapid hiring, new product launch) that need short-term directional leadership

  • Organizations with internal leaders capable of executing a plan but lacking senior-level strategy, prioritization, and governance experience

When to choose this engagement

  • You need rapid operational clarity and a prioritized plan within weeks

  • You want C-suite strategy without the cost of a full-time executive

  • You have internal execution capacity but need an outside leader to set direction and remove ambiguity

Limitations and expectations

  • Ten hours is sufficient for high-level assessment, prioritization, and initial planning, not full implementation

  • Deeper operational redesign, technology implementation, or culture transformation will require additional time or a follow-on engagement

  • Success depends on timely access to data and availability of at least one operational decision-maker for interviews and approvals

Pricing rationale

  • Fractional model reduces fixed cost of hiring a full-time COO while providing senior-level experience, faster outcomes, and lower risk. Pricing should reflect seniority, industry expertise, and deliverable scope.

Next steps

  • Provide key documents (financial summary, org chart, current KPIs) and available stakeholder times

  • Schedule a 30–60 minute intake to confirm priorities and engagement focus

  • Begin the 10-hour engagement with agreed objectives and deliverables schedule
